Dan Quinn’s Commanders suffer their first back to back losses

The banged up Commanders travelled to Philadelphia for their second game in four days and came up short against the division-leading Philadelphia Eagles. The Commanders led the game through three quarters, before giving up three rushing TDs in the fourth quarter.

• WR Britain Covey’s 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve was opened.

Daniel Jones appeared to be QB4 for the New York Giants on Wednesday as they practiced in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jones, the starter when healthy since taking over for Eli Manning in 2019, was replaced this week by Tommy Devito.

Jones was fourth in line Wednesday in drills during the portion of practice open to media. DeVito, Drew Lock, and newly-signed practice squad quarterback Tim Boyle all went before the deposed former starter.

The Washington Commanders returned to the practice field today after Thursday’s 26-18 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Many eyes were on Jayden Daniels to see how he looked following what was the least impressive performance of his outstanding rookie season, and to Marshon Lattimore, the veteran 4-time Pro Bowl cornerback who had not yet practiced fully or been active for a game since the Commanders acquired him from the Saints at the trade deadline on November 5th.

Retired New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is on the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time since his retirement in 2019.

It’s the first year Manning is eligible and there have been calls for him to be a first-ballot Hall of Fame entrant to the most prestigious community in the NFL.

Hall of Fame voting has been underway for some months, and they’ve narrowed the field down to 17 semifinalists, including six first-time ballot players. Those six are Manning, Luke Kuechly, Terrell Suggs, Earl Thomas, Adam Vinatieri, and Marshall Yanda.

Dan Quinn spoke to the media on Monday and declared that “Jayden [Daniels] is not injured right now”, but went on to talk about how lack of ‘banked’ practice reps limitations in practice due to the challenges of managing the short week ahead of the Thursday night game in Philly may have affected the rookie QB’s play. Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Bryce Huff is set to undergo a procedure on his wrist this Thursday, according to multiple reports. Nick Sirianni confirmed as much during his Wednesday press conference.
