As a defense, the Buffalo Bills are an opportunistic group. They strike when opportunity presents itself, usually brandishing devastating results for their opponent. For Buffalo, it’s “see ball, get ball” with head coach Sean McDermott. That’s one of the things these Bills do well defensively, creating turnovers.
Buffalo is currently riding a 26-game streak where they haven’t lost the turnover battle, which is an NFL record. Part of how the Bills generate turnovers is by using a technique called the “Peanut Punch.” This fumble-forcing technique was popularized by former Chicago Bears cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman, where a defender uses a...
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for his efforts during during the first four games of the 2025 NFL season. Cook’s September performance includes 100 scrimmage yards in the first four games of the season along with at least one score in each of those games. That’s a feat that has only been done six time in the Super Bowl era.
Cook has amassed 401 yards on the ground and is averaging 5.35 yards per carry. In addition to his 75 carries, the fourth-year running back has another 12 touches in...
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Bills fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
You didn’t ask for it, but we’re bringing it to you every week of the season! That’s right, it’s time once again to find out just how Rumblers feel about the Buffalo Bills. Unsuccessfully avoiding sports clichés just three sentences in, we’re not talking practice, we’re talking confidence.
But I’m going to ask voters to consider things differently this time. It’s...
We begin the same as last week, pointing out that the Buffalo Bills remain undefeated — only now heading into a Week 5 matchup with the New England Patriots. The Bills are the only undefeated team in the AFC, and one of just two overall with the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles the other 4-0 squad.
Buffalo is once again among the NFL’s best teams, but they aren’t without flaws. A fair amount of Bills Mafia remain concerned about the defense, which has taken its lumps in playing a bend-but-don’t-break style that’s also incorporating more man-cover looks than historically...
So, the Buffalo Bills didn’t open the practice window for any of the three players eligible to come off of Injured Reserve (IR) this week. According to head coach Sean McDermott, there is no clear indication of when kicker Tyler Bass, offensive lineman Tylan Grable, or rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston will be ready to practice with the team.
They did, however, get defensive tackle Ed Oliver, linebacker Matt Milano, and right tackle Spencer Brown back to work on Wednesday. Oliver has been sidelined since the middle of Week 2 when someone stepped on him at practice (no, he insists it...
The Buffalo Bills stare into a horizon filled with several scrambling quarterbacks, the defense potentially stuck between a rock and a hard place as it relates to containing true NFL dual threats.
Overall, the Bills’ defense has been the subject of much discussion during the first month of the 2025 NFL season. As we pass the roughly quarter mark of the schedule (curse you 17 game schedule and uneven measurements), there are more than a few aspects of Buffalo’s defense that can be examined as areas in need of improvement.
The Bills are tops in the NFL in yards per...
The Buffalo Bills play host to the New England Patriots in an AFC East matchup for Week 5 of Sunday Night Football. A win will give Buffalo a lot of breathing room in the division and a 5-0 record, while a loss will put New England right on their heels and in control early of the division tiebreaker. In looking at the Patriots’ sideline there are quite a few familiar faces from Bills’ history, some recent… and others a bit further back.
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs will play his first game in Highmark Stadium since being traded before the start...
The Buffalo Bills notched their first 4-0 start since 2020 with a gritty 31-19 victory over the winless New Orleans Saints on Sunday at Highmark Stadium. It wasn’t the blowout many predicted — far from it.
The Saints started nine drives in Buffalo territory, forcing the Bills’ defense to bend without breaking, while the offense leaned on familiar firepower amid sloppy moments like a rare Josh Allen interception. Turnovers were scarce (just one for Buffalo), but penalties and red-zone inefficiency kept the crowd on edge until a late surge sealed it.
In a game defined by resilience, certain Bills players...
‘Round these parts, the head of the officiating crew for New Orleans Saints at Buffalo Bills has a special name. Yes’m and yessir! ‘Round here he’s know as Land. Effing. Clark.
Now I wanna make something crystal clear. I’m not opposed to calling out shoddy officiating (I called for Shawn Hochuli to be given the Hugo Cruz treatment after a game once). To this point, I have never accused Land. Effing. Clark of poorly officiating a game or being biased. Nosir and no’m,
Land. Effing. Clark got his name ‘round these parts because every time he calls a Bills game...
On paper, the Buffalo Bills had a fairly comfortable win over the New Orleans Saints. For anyone watching, we know there was a long stretch of the game where it was anything but comfortable. Rather than focus on one player or group for this week’s analysis/recap, I decided to pick a few highlights and a few lowlights and put them under the microscope.
I know you’ve seen this a million times already but surely you’re fine seeing it again. I think wide receiver Khalil Shakir’s contact balance and ability to continue through multiple tackles has...
The Buffalo Bills haven’t made things easy on themselves over their past two games, but they were able to put their foot on the pedal and comfortably win by two scores against the New Orleans Saints in what felt like a bit of a sleepy start for the Bills — especially on the defensive side of the ball.
It was a fascinating day for Bills rookies who fluctuated snaps from where they had been in recent weeks. We also continued seeing ascending play from a couple of players who are looking like early hits from their most recent draft class....
The Buffalo Bills are signing a new punter in the wake of an injury to Cameron Johnston. After a tryout on Monday, former San Francisco 49ers punter Mitch Wishnowsky is being added to the active roster while Johnston goes to injured reserve.
Johnston may have been in line to be replaced even before the injury. He was signed just one game into the season to replace Brad Robbins, but he didn’t do much better. Johnston actually had a worse net average at 37.9 yards per punt, dismal by today’s NFL standards.
Wishnowsky (33) is originally from Australia and attended college...
