The playoff spotlight amplifies everything, and...
Woody Johnson’s tangible day-to-day mismanagement of the Jets is more important than explosive anecdotes about Madden ratings.
The top story in the New York Jets fanbase at the moment is the explosive expose written by The Athletic earlier in the week which raised the curtain on the team’s dysfunction behind the scenes. Owner Woody Johnson’s erratic management style in particular was put under the microscope in the piece.
I have to say that I believe a lot of the analysis about the article has missed the mark.
As happens with every major negative story that is published about the Jets,...
The Jets are gradually building a very good offensive line
My favorite era of New York Jets football was right around 2009. Not only did the Jets have the best cornerback that I’ve ever seen, but they also had this dominant offense line that completely dominated the matchups more weeks than not. I miss that era quite a bit, especially in light of the current playoff drought.
But, you know what, they might just be on their way to getting that dominant offensive line identity back, which would go a long way in getting the franchise back to credible.
First,...
The Jets try to put together back to back wins when they face the first place Los Angeles Rams on Sunday
The Los Angeles Rams have only beaten the New York Jets once since 2005, in a 9-6 win eight seasons ago, but will be heavy favorites on Sunday. They are 8-6 and tied atop the NFC West, having won three games in a row. They also have had extra time to prepare after beating the 49ers 12-6 last Thursday night. The Jets are coming off a win in Jacksonville and will look to pick up a meaningless late season...
Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning, Gang Green Nation. I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. The New York Jets seemingly can’t stop being a clown show. Not only have Jets fans had to deal with the Aaron Rodgers drama and the losses, combined with a meddling owner. Now, the story surrounding said owner has become an astronomical issue that continues to plague the team. The latest report suggests that Woody Johnson gives his teenage son substantial input into the organization, which is absurd enough. However, it’s also reported that...
Week 16 of Thursday Night Football features an AFC West showdown
Thursday Night Football, Week 16. Tonight the Los Angeles Chargers host the Denver Broncos in a game with playoff implications. The Chargers are 2.5 point home favorites in this game according to our friends at Fanduel Sportsbook.
The 9-5 Denver Broncos come into this game winners of four straight, including a 31 - 13 thrashing of the Indianapolis Colts last week. The Broncos feature the NFL’s #1 ranked defense in points allowed. They have held 10 of their 14 opponents under 20 points this season. In addition, the Broncos...
Nagy has led the top college all-star game since 2018
The Jets have interviewed Jim Nagy, the executive director of the Senior Bowl for their vacant general manager job.
The Senior Bowl is considered the most prestigious college all-star game, and Nagy has overseen the game since 2018. This followed an 18 year run working as an NFL scout.
As the top executive in a college all-star game, Nagy would bring an interesting skillset to the job. Obviously the players in the Senior Bowl change every year. However, the relationships Nagy has built with college coaching staffs in filling out...
The Athletic posts another bombshell story on Jets dysfunction.
Over the last year, The Athletic has published a number of explosive articles about Jets dysfunction behind the scenes. The latest piece in the series came out on Thursday.
There are numerous claims within the article. None caught my eye quite like one about the influence of owner Woody Johnson’s teenage sons on football operations.
“When we’re discussing things, you’ll hear Woody cite something that Brick or Jack read online that’s being weighed equally against whatever opinion someone else in the department has,” said one Jets executive.
What’s notable here...
The fallout from this disastrous Jets season begins
I suppose some teams really just might not deserve nice things. If any team matches that description it would probably be the New York Jets, who have looked about as inept as possible over the course of their league-leading playoff drought.
It appears that budding superstar wide receiver Garrett Wilson may be coming to that same conclusion, as Rich Cimini of ESPN lobbed out rumors of an upcoming Garrett Wilson trade request.
Honestly, though, I can’t blame him. I can’t say that I’d want to play for this team if I were...
Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning, Gang Green Nation. I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. New York Jets Aaron Rodgers’ documentary came out this week. Now we wait to find out whether Rodgers is on the way out. At this point it’s hard to determine. However, we’ll soon find out. Meanwhile speculation has begun about whether Garrett Wilson will seek a trade this offseason. With that, here are your links to the Jets to start your morning.

Maybe the Jets aren’t so bad after all
I guess I have to state the obvious: the 2024 New York Jets have been quite bad. A 4-10 record is all the support we need to defend that point.
However, in watching the games, they’re competitive more often than not and that gets lost in the general stink that has been this season.
And by no means am I going to try to “it’s not so bad” away this season. This season has stunk. It has been one of the least enjoyable New York Jets viewing experiences that I can recall....
A look at one path to avoid.
The Jets are searching for a new head coach and a new general manager. Rumors are starting to pop up about potential candidates.
There are also questions about how the Jets will manage these searches. Who will be in charge? Will the team hire a general manager who then picks a coach? Will the coach have more power? Will both hires work on equal footing and report to Woody Johnson?
On today’s mailbag podcast episode we discuss how the Jets could handle things. It isn’t so much that there’s one right way for...
