Originally appeared at Steelers Now: Report: Zach Frazier Will Wear No. 54 with Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers’ second-round selection Zach Frazier will wear No. 54 with the Steelers, according to NFL Jersey Numbers. Frazier donned No. 54 during his four years as a West Virginia Mountaineer, so it’s not surprising that he stuck with that number. Linebacker Kwon Alexander in 2023 was the last Steeler to rep No. 54.
Marv Kellum, Craig Bingham, Hardy Nickerson, Mike Schneck and L.J. Fort are some notable past Steelers players to have worn No. 54.
Frazier’s No. 54 is the same range as Mike Webster’s...

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have beef up front. They added another offensive lineman in South Dakota State guard Mason McCormick. So, now the Steelers draft haul includes three athletic linemen that can move in space and offer them so significant versatility throughout their offense.
The 119th pick was right there in the sweet spot for a player like him, who has a little bit of rawness in his game but still has the athletic traits that stick out and could allow him to...
The Pittsburgh Steelers are implementing quite the youth movement in the offensive line room under GM Omar Khan. They used their first-round selection last season on OT Broderick Jones and have taken three offensive linemen in the 2024 NFL Draft in Washington OT Troy Fautanu, West Virginia OC Zach Frazier, and South Dakota State OG […]
South Dakota State certainly isn’t Alabama or Ohio State, but that doesn’t mean they can’t produce good players. With their fourth-round pick this year, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected OG Mason McCormick from South Dakota State, and some analysts are already raving about the pick. During a live recording on YouTube of the NFL Draft, Brett […]
One of the questions about South Dakota State OL Mason McCormick in the draft process was what position he would play in the NFL. He played almost exclusively left guard in college but there were plenty of people projecting that he could play center. He even spent time at the Shrine Bowl working as a […]

The Beatdown crew react to the Ravens’ Day 3 selections of the 2024 NFL Draft.
‘Tez’ represents an outstanding selection at the intersection of need and value. With an impressive 9.76 relative athletic score, Walker boasts the length and deep speed to thrive as a linear receiver in the Ravens offense. His superb ball tracking flashes on tape but he could stand to improve his route precision at the next level. Schematically, his field stretching ability should help alleviate extra bodies from the box, benefitting the rushing attack...
Entering the 2024 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers very clearly had a plan in place to address the offensive line. Consider that plan complete as the Steelers did something Saturday that hadn’t been done since the 1976 NFL Draft in franchise history: selecting an offensive lineman with three of the first five selections. According to […]
Pittsburgh Steelers second round pick C Zach Frazier is keeping his college number. Frazier will wear No. 54 for the Steelers, the same digits he donned throughout his excellent West Virginia career. That info comes from the NFL jersey-knowing Twitter account @nfl_jersey_num. Pittsburgh Steelers OL Zach Frazier (@zfrazier54) is wearing number 54. Last assigned to […]

Kyle Phoenix’s analysis: While other picks have felt best player available with a minor lean toward need — be it fortune or intent — the selection of Tampa is an...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been in the middle of an offensive line rebuild for years now, and that rebuild has been mostly unsuccessful until the last couple of years. They added James Daniels in free agency in 2022, then Isaac Seumalo in 2023 free agency. They then drafted Broderick Jones in the first round of […]
