BEARSSSSSS
[**Ben Johnson is “a little bit disappointed” in himself for CBS in-game...
At times, watching the Bears on Sunday in their game against the Raiders felt like pulling teeth. But in the end, they found a way to sneak out of Las Vegas with the 25-24 win, improving their record to 2-2 on the season going into their Week 5 bye week.
Neither the Bears offense nor the defense were particularly great in Week 4, but both units put together just enough splash plays to put the team in a position to succeed. Throw in some high-quality play on special teams, and you have all the ingredients for a classic “winning ugly”...
Last week, when the Dallas Cowboys tied the game up at 14 in the second quarter, I found myself thinking, ‘Here we go again,’ because we’ve seen that game before from the Chicago Bears. They jump out to a lead against an opponent they should be able to beat, but then they lose momentum, and it all falls apart, leading to a loss.
But not that Sunday. That Sunday, they regrouped and scored, then shut the Cowboys down for the rest of the game to win their first under Ben Johnson.
Fast forward to yesterday against the Las Vegas Raiders....
It was ugly at times, but a win is a win.
“Just win baby.” That’s what they say, right?
Despite a porous run defense, and no real run game of their own, the Chicago Bears fought their way to a 25-24 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.
No matter how you slice it, this Bears team is in an infinitely better position heading into their bye week at 2-2 than they would have been at 1-3. The Bears have some time now to get healthy and keep hope alive that they can pick up enough...
When the schedule was released back in May, it was easy to see how a Week 5 bye could be a much more significant issue than something that helped the Chicago Bears. After seeing how the first four weeks of the season played out, their bye couldn’t be timed any better. Even better? The Bears are heading into that early bye week with a (2-2) record, despite losing their first two games of the season. It was far from pretty on Sunday in Las Vegas, but in the end, the Bears got what was most important, and that was a...
If anyone reading this column had a bad feeling entering this game, you are not alone. Games that, on paper at least, should favor the Chicago Bears routinely ending in heartache is not something new to us Bears fans. Especially road games of such variety. But yesterday’s performance was… different. Here are my notes.
The Chicago Bears played most of that game like they were hungover after a long night in Sin City, yet somehow, all three phases came through in the waning minutes to make a big play to secure the win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
After a Cairo Santos 51-yard field goal to cut the lead to two (19 – 21), the Raiders drove right down to the red zone and had first and goal from the seven. But the Chicago defense stiffened and held them to a field goal.
Chicago 19, Las Vegas 24
The Bears’ offense answered with an...

It was a nail-biter from start to finish for the Bears, but after a blocked field goal by Josh Blackwell to close out the game, they escaped with the 25-24 victory to improve to 2-2.
The win puts the Bears at the .500 mark going into their Week 5 bye week. It wasn’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but a win is a win at the end of the day. Here are the key takeaways from Sunday’s action.
All told, Maxx Crosby was credited for four tackles, three tackles for a loss,...
