The 2025 Chicago Bears offense was already going to be like something we’ve never seen before, thanks to head coach Ben Johnson paired up with year two of Caleb Williams. But after the first two picks in the draft brought tight end Colston Loveland and wide receiver Luther Burden III, Johnson will have even...
Which players was Ben Johnson referring to?
The Chicago Bears have largely been applauded for their moves in the NFL Draft. Their grades have been solid from the draft experts, and they added plenty of pieces on offense around Caleb Williams and sprinkled a few pieces around the defense as well.
But Ben Johnson’s comments after the Draft are what caught my eye:
“I think all we did this weekend is we might’ve just turned up the notch a couple of dials for certain people in this building. That’s a good thing. That’s a healthy thing. That’s where you bring...
A problem foreign to Bears fans emerged in the aftermath of the 2025 Draft - do the Bears have too much offensive talent?
At roughly 6:38 pm on April 25th, Chicago Bears fans were confronted with an unfamiliar question.
Do we have too much offensive talent?
Entering the 2025 NFL draft, you’d be hard pressed to find any analyst who was giving the Bears another WR in one of the first three rounds. After the Bears selected Colston Loveland at pick 10, this idea seemed even more far-fetched.
And then Ryan Poles and Ben Johnson went nuclear.
In attempts to...

A Cleveland radio personality reports that an NFL North team is close to signing former Browns running back Nick Chubb.
The Chicago Bears missed on some high-profile running backs in the NFL Draft, and while they did select Rutgers’ Kyle Monangai in the seventh round, it’s not exactly what some expected. That’s probably a major reason so many NFL analysts are connecting the dots between the Bears and free agent running back Nick Chubb.
The rumor mill has been churning the last couple of days that Chubb (5’11”, 227), who rushed for 332 yards in eight games for the [Cleveland...
Most Chicago Bears fans were bracing for running back Ashton Jeanty or one of the top offensive tackles. Or perhaps a defensive lineman in the first round on Thursday night, but as the picks started to come off the board, and there was no trade back, tight end came into focus.
Michigan’s Colston Loveland and Penn State’s Tyler Warren were at the top of the position, and the Bears went with Loveland, the Wolverines’ 6’5” 248-pounder.
We asked you guys for your immediate grade, and most were pleased, checking in with 65% at the two highest marks.
I'm curious to...

WCG’s lead draft analyst shares his way-too-early Round 1 mock for the 2026 NFL Draft.
The 2025 NFL Draft has wrapped up and concluded. That means it’s officially time to prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft!
For most, it’s far too early to start talking about next year’s draft. Honestly, I don’t blame you. Friend of Windy City Gridiron James Fox recently shared one of my old Round 1 mock drafts for the 2025 draft that I did in August of 2024. I got 15 names right before the start of the new regular season, with seven of my Round...
The NFL Draft is a time of hope and disappointment for many fanbases. Here are a few thoughts that should be safe enough to ponder for most people, though.
Another NFL draft has taken place, and teams need to begin working on incorporating their new infusions of talent into their organizations. Fans need to adjust to new expectations and realities, as well. Before turning the page, here are five thoughts on the 2025 NFL Draft.
From 2011-2023, the NFL averaged taking 5 edge defenders, 3 interior defensive linemen, 2 linebackers, and 6 defensive...
The 2025 draft/udfa madness is now finished, as Bears turn minds towards next month’s Rookie Mini Camp

And he did it all by doing exactly what fans usually ask for from their general managers.
In my day-to-day life, I’m an English teacher. I spend a fair amount of time at the start of each semester reminding students that word choice matters and that they cannot assume others will share their definitions. I remind students that they need to be open to the idea that not everyone shares their same standards of judgment. I try to come up with examples all the time that show how two people looking at the same thing might have very different evaluations....
We’ll share your grades for the Chicago Bears players and overall class on Monday, but we wanted to share what some publications had to say about the 2025 haul of players picked by general manager Ryan Poles.
