Green has been on the practice squad
The New York Giants continued to shuffle their roster on Wednesday. Head coach Brian Daboll announced that cornerback Art Green has been signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster to replace Nick McCloud, who was released on Tuesday.
Green is a former undrafted free agent who spent most of the 2023 season on the Denver Broncos practice squad. He has been on the Giants’ practice squad since the end of August.
Green, 24, was elevated for one game earlier this season. In Week 3, Green played 11 defensive snaps and was...
The New York Giants returned to the practice field on Wednesday afternoon in preparation for a Week 10 game against the Carolina Panthers at Allianz
Arena in Munich, Germany.
Before heading out into the Spring-like weather, head coach Brian Daboll informed reporters that kicker Graham Gano had his practice window opened and suggested there’s a chance he would play on Sunday.
The news wasn’t nearly as positive for wide receiver Darius Slayton, who remains in concussion protocol and is behind where running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. was a week ago. Daboll said Slayton may not travel to Germany with the...
Two-point conversions aren’t what they used to be
Down 24-10 to the Washington Commanders in the fourth quarter on Sunday, the New York Giants scored a touchdown on a great 2-yard run by Daniel Jones with 9:25 left in the fourth quarter to close the gap to 24-16.
The question was then whether the Giants would go for 1 or 2. “Analytics” says to go for 2. It’s counter-intuitive at first, but statistics bear it out. In any case, the Giants failed on the two-point conversion when Jones kept the ball and was tackled short of the goal line. It...

Jamie Gillan apparently ready to resume punting duties
The New York Giants have terminated the contract of veteran punter Matt Haack, a clear sign that regular punter Jamie Gillan is ready to return from a left hamstring injury.
Gillan has missed the last four games, though the Giants did not put him on injured reserve.
Haack, in his eighth NFL season, averaged 47.0 yards per punt over four games for the Giants, with a net average of 39.6 yards per punt. Gillan was averaging 47.8 yards per punt and 42.3 net yards before being injured.
The Giants’ kicking group could...
This has already been an eventful week
The New York Giants face the Carolina Panthers in Week 10 as they play out the string of yet another lost season. Here are some ‘things I think’ as we gear up for the game.
Daniel Jones is coming off his best game of the season. His best game, in fact, since 2022. Yet, the reality of where the Giants are in their season and where Jones is in his career, mean that Sunday in Munich, Germany could mark the final start of Jones’ career as Giants quarterback....
During his first press conference of Week 10, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll intimated that kicker Graham Gano and punter Jamie Gillan could return as soon as Sunday’s game in Germany.
“I still have to meet with our medical guys, but I think Graham is getting close. How close he is right now, I think we’ll know here in the next couple days,” Daboll said on Monday.
“I think that (Gillan) progressed well. We’ll see here (on Tuesday) or Wednesday where he’s at. I think he has a chance.”
While the jury is still out on Gano, the...
The New York Giants (2-7) will visit the Carolina Panthers (2-7) at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany this Sunday morning.
That, of course, provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal from the Panthers’ roster in search of depth and/or talent upgrades for Big Blue for the second time this season.
The issue facing us this week is that Carolina’s roster is quite shallow, much like the Giants’ roster. They are in the early stages of a rebuild and have very little to choose from at the top of the depth chart.
One strongly considered...

Can the Giants keep their perfect international record intact?
The New York Giants travel to Munich, Germany this week to face the Carolina Panthers in s Week 10 matchup. It is a meeting of two of the seven NFL teams tied for the league’s worst record at 2-7, and will determine more about the 2025 NFL Draft order than anything else.
The game will be played at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday at Allianz Arena, and will be broadcast by NFL Network.
The Giants have lost four straight games, while the Panthers are coming off a 23-22 victory over the...
The New York Giants are 2-7 after nine weeks of the 2024 season, one in which their ownership and front office believed they would be competitive.
Instead, they sit in last place in the NFC East with little hope of winning it after getting swept by division leader Washington this past Sunday.
As the trade deadline passed on Tuesday afternoon, the Giants were neither buyers nor sellers, basically sitting silently with the exception of some minor housekeeping.
The Giants would need the seas to part in order for them to even figure into the wild card hunt. According to NFLGSIS.com,...
Giants will now hope they can re-sign both pending free agents
Azeez Ojulari is staying put. For now. After shopping him prior to Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET NFL trade deadline, the New York Giants decided not to trade the 24-year-old free-agent-to-be edge defender.
Several edge defenders were traded before the deadline. Preston Smith went from the Green Bay Packers to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Za’Darius Smith from the Cleveland Browns to the Detroit Lions, and Baron Browning from the Denver Broncos to the Arizona Cardinals.
Per Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Giants wanted a late fourth-round or early fifth-round pick...
