The Cowboys injury report for Friday.
After the Cleveland Browns won in a snowy outing during Thursday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Dallas Cowboys have only four teams ahead them with fewer wins and currently hold the ninth pick in this year’s draft. There’s no reason to believe the Cowboys are intentionally tanking, more like they don’t have the bodies to compete and the results of what they lack is showing in the loss column. Ahead of their game against their former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and his upstart Washington Commanders, Dallas will be without some key players...
Week 12 game status updates.
The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 12 road game against the Los Angeles Rams.
The Eagles ruled one player OUT: DeVonta Smith.
Smith did not practice this week due to the hamstring injury he’s been dealing with. Missing him obviously isn’t ideal because he’s a really good player. Then again, the Eagles were able to beat the Rams last year without him being a major factor (five targets, one catch, six yards). Smith’s absence leaves the Eagles with the following healthy receivers on...
Recently released New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones could find a new team once he clears waivers early next week.
According to NFL reporter Josina Anderson, the Dallas Cowboys will likely not be one the teams showing interest despite the rumor mill churning out reports connecting Jones to the Cowboys.
For those oasking, I’m told the #Cowboys are not currently pursuing QB Daniel Jones, per source.

We won’t know for sure until Jones clears waivers (which is reported to be Monday at 4 p.m. ET), but the Cowboys probably won’t be...
The New York Giants released quarterback Daniel Jones on Friday, a move that was requested by Jones and granted by the Giants, who had effectively benched DJ for perpetuity this week.
The Giants are no longer potentially on the hook for the $23 million injury clause in Jones’ contract but are still going to feel a huge pinch by letting him go as mapped out by Yahoo! Sports’ Sean Leahy.
*Jones will technically be placed on waivers, but considering his contract he will end up becoming an unrestricted free agent. He was in the second year of a four-year,...
Plus: more commentar from Philadelphia’s head coach.
The Eagles have another practice on Friday before heading to the West Coast for their Sunday Night Football matchup with the Rams, and head coach Nick Sirianni spent a few minutes giving injury updates and talking about veteran and WR evaluations.
He didn’t want to get too much into why Jalen Hurts was limited on Wednesday or how they were using that as a preventive measure, but simply noted the QB is good to go and will be out on the field Sunday night. Sirianni explained it’s a long season and a lot...
The Philadelphia Eagles morphed into a covering machine over the last month-and-a-half.
The Birds, who are a 2.5-point favorite against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games.
The impressive run against the spread moved the Birds back to .500 as a betting favorite. They are 4-4 ATS when favored.
On the other hand, the Rams haven’t done much covering of any spreads in 2024. They’re one of 13 NFL teams with a record of two games below .500 or worse against the spread.
The Rams are an average 2-3 ATS...
This season has felt broken for a very long time now.
The Cowboys have now lost five straight games, with the season falling into utter disarray ever since their gutsy win in Pittsburgh over the Steelers that seemingly signaled a positive shift in the team’s overall trajectory. Of course, it’s hard to talk about this current slide without acknowledging all of the injuries that have plagued this roster.
Micah Parsons missed that game in Pittsburgh, as did DeMarcus Lawrence, and then missed the next three games. Lawrence still hasn’t returned, and his replacement - rookie Marshawn Kneeland - almost immediately...
The Marshon Lattimore trade might be great value for the Commanders
The Commanders’ have a made a great start at rebuilding their roster in the first season under new management. Some areas of weakness were greatly improved in the first offseason, including interior offensive line, linebacker, and the most important position of all, quarterback.
With limited resources to fix many holes, there were bound to be remaining weak spots. Through 11 weeks of Adam Peter’s first season in charge, the Commanders have allowed the 5th most passing yards in the league, and a consensus has emerged that cornerback is the...
The New York Giants wrapped up their week of practice on Friday afternoon in East Rutherford, New Jersey and their final injury report indicates the team is relatively healthy for the first time in weeks.
But that wasn’t without some pitfalls.
Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was added to the injury report on Friday and did not practice after suffering a groin injury. Linebacker Micah McFadden also missed practice but told reporters he expects to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both players are listed as questionable.
Full injury reports for both the Giants and Buccaneers can be found below:...

Dalas Cowboys offensive player projections for Sunday are about what they have been as of late.
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a game in which Cooper Rush threw for 354 yards, the 50th game in which a quarterback eclipsed 350 in franchise history. Rush’s performance on Monday night came as the Cowboys were fighting for their lives against the Houston Texans, and they failed in pretty spectacular fashion. They are expected to be in for a similar battle this week on the road against the Washington Commanders, and if former friend Dan Quinn has anything to do with...
On Thursday night, after former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones read an emotionally charged statement essentially saying goodbye to the franchise, ESPN anchor Elle Duncan decided to chime in.
Duncan changed the entire format of her segment in order to mock and belittle Jones, which she appeared to take great joy in.
“We normally reserve ‘Taking the Elle’ for Fridays but Giants quarterback Daniel Jones just did something so inexplicable that we made an exception,” Duncan said. “After being benched this week, Jones took to the podium to say goodbye to the franchise and fans but with, like, seven...
