An overwhelming majority of Giants fans think they should trade players for picks
We’re at the halfway point of the 2024 season and the New York Giants are currently sitting at 2-6. Barring a remarkable turnaround, it seems very unlikely that the Giants will make the postseason or do much more than tread water for the remainder of the year.
With that in mind we asked the Big Blue View community whether the Giants should be sellers, buyers, or stand pat at the upcoming trade deadline.
Giants fans voted overwhelmingly in support of selling at the trade deadline in exchange...
The New York Giants (2-6) are currently 4-point underdogs to their NFC East division rivals, the Washington Commanders (6-2), for their upcoming Week 9 matchup this Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.
The line is up from 3.5 points earlier in the week.
The over/under, which opened at 43.5 total points, is up to 44.5 and the moneyline is currently Commanders -210, Giants +170, per BetMGM.
It’s the 24th consecutive game that the Giants have been listed as an underdog — a continuing franchise record.
The Giants are coming off a frustrating 26-18 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on *Monday Night...
The mail’s here!
Mike Tizzano asks: Following up on this after reading your article about why Azeez and Slayton must be traded. Two-part question:
1. You cited an exec that said he’d bring no more than a sixth. Could that have changed with his recent production?
2. Is there a possibility that they could fetch a conditional pick based on his production the remainder of the year post trade and/or the acquiring team re-signing him in the offseason?
Ed says: Mike, let’s not get this twisted. I did not say Azeez Ojulari and Darius Slayton “must” be traded. I said...
New York Giants news for Saturday
Good morning, New York Giants fans!
New York Giants second-year cornerback Deonte Banks will be back in the lineup this week against the Washington Commanders after getting benched at halftime on Monday night in Pittsburgh.
Banks was once again cited for substandard effort by the coaching staff who made a decision to replace the 2023 first-round pick with Greg Stroman for the remainder of the game.
“I think he’ll be ready to go,” head coach Brian Daboll said this week.
“Obviously, a tough challenge with No. 17 (Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin) over there who’s done a great job. He’ll have a good week here.”

Giants will be using their third placekicker on Sunday
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy has cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and is expected to play Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
Tracy, a rookie fifth-round pick, has two 100+ yard rushing games in the last four weeks, and is the teams’ leading rusher. He has 376 yards rushing and is averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Tracy had a career-best 145 yards rushing on 20 carries before suffering his concussion Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Giants will be without placekicker Greg Joseph. He was not listed on the...
The New York Giants wrapped up their week of practice on Friday afternoon in East Rutherford and things ended on a better note than they started.
Despite a massive injury report that grew throughout the week, every player participated in practice on Friday with the exception of punter Jamie Gillan and kicker Greg Joseph.
Gillan was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders before the team even took the field.
Joseph was a new addition to the injury report and with veteran Graham Gano on IR, the Giants will have to add a new kicker over the next...
Henderson is taking Banks’ difficulties personally
The New York Giants, fearful of being jumped, traded up one spot to select Deonte Banks No. 24 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. That means they have high expectations for, and a lot invested in, the cornerback.
His struggles this season — being overmatched at times as the team’s No. 1 cornerback, twice having lapses where his effort obviously wasn’t good enough, being benched Monday against the Pittsburgh Steelers — hurt the team and reflect on everyone who was involved in making him a Giant.
No one takes that harder, or takes it...
Wellington Mara, the late co-owner of the New York Giants, has been named as the team’s nominee for the 2024 Salute to Service Award.
The Salute to Service Award, presented by USAA, “acknowledges the exceptional efforts by members of the NFL community to honor and support U.S. service members, veterans, and their families.”
Mara, who passed away in 2005, has recently been in the news after the NFL Network aired a documentary about his life last week.
A World War II Navy veteran, Mara “spent his life honoring, empowering and connecting with service members, veterans and their families.”
Mara’s father,...
