For the second time this season, NFL referee Shawn Hochuli will officiate a Pittsburgh Steelers game. He is the head ref for Sunday’s contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. What we wrote about him last time applies to the present. Expect lots of penalties. Shawn Hochuli will be the referee for the Week 13 Sunday afternoon […]
The New England Patriots announced Tuesday that they’ve claimed G Lester Cotton off waivers from the Dolphins and waived G Michael Jordan.
Cotton, 28, wound up going undrafted out of Alabama back in May of 2019. He later signed a rookie contract with the Raiders.
The Raiders waived Cotton at the start of the 2020 season and he sat out the entire year. He was on and off of the Raiders’ roster before joining the Dolphins for the 2023 season.
Miami opted to waive Cotton on Monday.
In 2024, Cotton has appeared in 11 games for the Dolphins, but...
3 sacks in the last 4 games for the 2023 first-round pick
Let’s be honest, the only reason to watch the Las Vegas Raiders for the rest of the season is to see how the team’s young players perform as the Raiders look to build for the future. One source of optimism in Las Vegas is Tyree Wilson as the defensive end has managed to record three sacks in the last four games.
Diving deeper, Wilson has recorded eight pressures on 89 pass-rush snaps during that time frame and owns a 75.5 run defense grade for the entire year, according...
The New York Giants took an embarrassing loss in Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the players were not happy with the way everything went down. One of those players who wasn’t satisfied with the way the team played was Dexter Lawrence, and he told reporters after the game that they played soft – or that’s what they thought he said.
After their practice as they prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, Lawrence was asked about his comments, and he blamed the media for how it was interpreted.
“I didn’t say we are soft as a...
The New Orleans Saints announced they have designated DE Tanoh Kpassagnon to return from the PUP list.

— New Orleans Saints (@Saints) November 26, 2024
This opens a three-week window for him to practice with the team before he has to be added to the active roster.
The veteran tore his Achilles this offseason and has been out since then.
Kpassagnon, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2017. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4,321,218...
Ojulari will have third straight season interrupted by injury
Three weeks after deciding not to move him at the NFL trade deadline, the New York Giants are placing edge defender Azeez Ojulari on Injured Reserve due to a toe injury.
Ojulari suffered the injury on Sunday during a 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 24-year-old Ojulari will finish the season with 6.0 sacks, the second-best total of his four-year career.
Ojulari did not have a sack in any of his last three games, two of those coming after the trade deadline.
Ojulari can be a free agent this...
The Steelers OC could take the head coaching job at UNC
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense has taken a step forward this season, averaging more yards and points per game than they ever did with Matt Canada calling the offense. And while many believe Arthur Smith could be doing more (which may be a fair point), he has done largely well with the pieces he’s been given. Smith has done such a good job that he has been named as a candidate to replace Mack Brown as the head coach at North Carolina.
The Tar Heels fired Mack Brown, and Smith’s...

Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys win was full of all sorts of impressive points of history.
The Dallas Cowboys took care of business on Sunday against the Washington Commanders and it is still hard to believe. With the Cowboys back in action so soon on Thanksgiving Day there is not a ton of dwelling on the game, even if it yielded positive results, but before we fully bury it we should take note of things that were impressive in certain respects.
This is where our the handy tools at Stathead and Pro Football Reference come into play. Every week we use their...

Fantasy football is beginning to enter the home stretch of the 2024 season as one of the biggest weeks of the year quickly approaches. Thanksgiving Day annually contains some of the biggest games of the year, particularly in fantasy football, in which the playoffs loom right around the corner.
While often neglected, having the right defense can sometimes be the difference between a win or a loss. In many leagues, the result of a Week 13 matchup holds significant playoff indications. That puts every position on an even playing field, making it even more important for managers to find the...
If the Los Angeles Rams secured the win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football, it would have been the ultimate coming out party to the NFL world.
Facing off against the NFL’s top rushing offense, top overall defense, and a passing game ripping up 40-plus yard bombs seemingly on the weekly, beating Nick Sirianni’s company would have not only put the Rams back in first place, tied with the Cardinals and Seahawks atop the NFC West, but also made them look like legit contenders overall, as they could quite literally beat anyone, even the best team in the...
