April 23rd, 2026 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania- Roger Goodell walks up to the podium for the NFL Draft: “The Carolina Panthers have traded the 6th pick to the Seattle Seahawks. With the 6th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select… John Mateer, quarterback, Oklahoma”
Well we had a feeling didn’t we? We chose to believe in the Seattle Seahawks after their demolition of the Kansas City Chiefs in a stupid preseason game. We believed in Mike Macdonald and his defense, but that game, and the new vision of this team, we thought it could lead to a division title....
In Today’s Links: 7 days (or it it 6, technically?) is the wait and then our dreams for our Seattle Seahawks will begin unfolding week-by-week. First up, the dreaded San Francisco Forty-Niners, America’s most perplexing team. What will the ‘Niners look like on the field after an off-season of roster shuffling and chisme? Now that roster cuts are complete and 53-man rosters are settled, we have a clearer picture of how NFL teams are using their salary caps.
This awesome graph by Sebastian Carl (using the latest available data from OverTheCap.com) shows the percentage breakdown for contract classes, as well as available cap space and dead money. The bad news is the Seahawks rank very high in dead money thanks to high-profile departures like DK Metcalf, Geno Smith, Dre’Mont Jones, and Tyler Lockett. The good news? They have more available cap space than most, and that’s because no team has a greater portion...
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seattle Seahawks fans and fans across the country.
The 2025 preseason has now ended, and with one week remaining until the start of the regular season, fans around the country are wondering how their teams will perform in the games that count. While the preseason can be a good way to evaluate how a team’s new rookie class can do against other rookies, these games are rarely reflective of a team’s true potential.
For the Seattle Seahawks, perhaps...
When people say “the preseason means nothing,” they don’t really mean that. What they’re trying to say is that a 3-0 preseason record does not mean a team will be a juggernaut, or that a 160-yard receiving performance does not guarantee someone a roster spot.
Because the preseason undoubtedly does mean quite a bit for more than a few career decisions. Like, for example, all of us watching the absence of Marquez Valdes-Scantling for much of this summer. Whether he was not practicing, or simply not getting open, preseason highlights and discussions contained a plethora of Seattle Seahawks names, but...
In Today’s Links: the HC of our Seattle Seahawks has been quietly setting the pace. Despite a certain trademark stoic nature exhibited most notably along the sideline, Coach Macdonald seems to be revealing a brighter and sharper public persona as he becomes more comfortable in his role as Director. Yesterday’s short presser was an example of his growing confidence. His team must be looking pretty dandy from his vantage point.

Oh how quickly things can change.
When DeMarcus Lawrence joined the Seattle Seahawks in free agency after a decade with the Dallas Cowboys, ‘Tank’ took a swipe at the Cowboys’ Super Bowl chances in an interview with Brian Nemhauser.
“Dallas is my home,” Lawrence said. “I made my home there, my family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there. But I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there.”
That led to this brief social media exchange between Parsons and Lawrence:
Lawrence had a more thorough statement to express his gratitude toward the Cowboys organization after this...
