With the Week 8 bye just around the corner, the 4-2 Seattle Seahawks are looking for one more win before the break with a Monday Night Football showdown on the schedule against the Houston Texans.

It was almost eight years ago that these two teams faced off in a shootout that saw Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson lead their teams up and down the field in a shootout that ended in a 41-38 Seahawks victory, with the two teams agreeing to the trade that sent Duane Brown to Seattle in the days after the game.

In the eight years since, both teams have continued to deal with struggles up front on the offensive line, with the two franchises combining for just four postseason wins over the course of those eight years. Notably, half of those postseason wins have come from the Texans notching a Wild Card win in each of the last two seasons, with the Seahawks contributing only the 2019 Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

In order to keep pace in what is looking like a tough NFC West race this season, the Seahawks will look to upend the Texans at home after both the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers won Sunday.

Thank you for bringing back that painful memory. I don’t think the Texans will be buyers or sellers per se. I think Nick Cserior (Executive VP and GM) will be more opportunistic at the deadline. Linebacker Christian Harris has been rumored to be on the trading block and I suspect any deal would be based on what is offered and not on the Texans record. The Texans could be in the market for a tight end or running back at the deadline, but I don’t think Causero will overpay. I suppose the real intent behind the question is whether the Texans will give up on the season. I don’t think that will be the case. I think ten wins gets you a wild card berth and this team has finished strong before, so I think they would hold on for a couple more weeks. If they looked up at 2-7 or 2-8 then it would be over.

2. Bobby Slowik was a hot name linked to multiple head coaching vacancies after the 2023 season, in particular the Seahawks opening when the team moved on from Pete Carroll. What happened that Slowik went from hot name to let go over the course of a year, and what do fans think of his replacement so far in 2025?

That is a huge and interesting tale. I think the...
