The Seattle Seahawks (4-2) have one more game before their bye week, and it’s a tough one against the Houston Texans (2-3), who are coming off their own bye week and have otherwise won two straight after a stunning 0-3 start. Seattle needs to win to stay tied for first place in the NFC West after Sunday’s wins by the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams.
After a tough loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Seahawks bounced back in a big way by taking out the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road. Now it’s time to reverse the poor form at home and defeat a Texans team that boasts the No. 1 scoring defense in the NFL, led by the ferocious pass rushing duo of Will Anderson Jr and Danielle Hunter, as well as All-Pro corner Derek Stingley Jr. It’s been a bumpy road for C.J. Stroud and Houston’s offense, but they destroyed the undermanned Baltimore Ravens in Week 5 and still have one of the top receivers in the league in Nico Collins. The offensive line remains a known weak spot for them, which could be a big opportunity for the Seahawks defense. Seattle will get Riq Woolen back from his concussion, plus we’ll see if Julian Love and Devon Witherspoon return.
