Report: Aiyuk, 49ers not close in contract negotiations

“This one’s tricky because he was implicated in some trade talks around the draft. He wants a new contract; has one year left. I’m told the 49ers certainly are open to doing a deal, but talks have not progressed enough where things are close,” Fowler said. “And so, is he going to show up for their workouts? Hard to tell right now. The market is pretty set for him. Amon-Ra St. Brown in Detroit did that deal recently, about $28...

Young Seahawks OL will have to grow up fast for Seattle to be competitive

Young Seahawks OL will have to grow up fast for Seattle to be competitive

Seattle could be trotting out nothing but first-year starters on the interior of the offensive line.

There’s a significant chance that the Seattle Seahawks will trot out a starting offensive line exclusively consisting of their own draft picks. It’s been damn near 20 years since the Seahawks have had a universally recognized top-level offensive line, and the hope is that this set of picks is the start of something special.

Spoiler: Don’t be surprised if we’re in for tough sledding.

This was the storyline for the injury-riddled Seahawks OL last season...

The strengths Seahawks draft pick Christian Haynes brings to the offensive line

The Seahawks addressed the guard position by taking Haynes in the third round.

With the 81st overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected UConn right guard Christian Haynes. Guard was a need for this team after the departures of Damien Lewis and Phil Haynes in free agency. Last year’s fourth-round pick Anthony Bradford did have a respectable rookie season, allowing just one sack, but nonetheless Seattle pushed to upgrade interior of the offensive line after selecting two offensive tackles in Charles Cross and Abe Lucas back in 2022.

What records can Puka Nacua set in year 2?

Puka Nacua will need to knock fellow Rams player Isaac Bruce off his perch in year 2

Puka Nacua made history by setting some of the NFL’s most cherished rookie records in 2023, including catches and yards by a first-year player. If he wants to set records for year two though, he’s going to need to come after a Rams legend.

Isaac Bruce.

What records can Puka Nacua break in 2024?

Most receptions by 2nd-year player: Isaac Bruce, 119 (1995)

This one almost feels like child’s play for Puka, as long as he can stay healthy.

The 33rd overall...

Steve Young believes fans shouldn’t panic

49ers fans are a confident bunch with their “Super Bowl window” and the future of the team. Sure, roster turnover is inevitable. Some of the 49ers top-end players are aging, plus the league catches up, and the NFL is the ultimate league of parity. Very few teams find themselves in the Super Bowl multiple years in a short time. Injuries play a role in a run to the big game at times. Luck certainly plays a role in any team’s road to the Lombardi.

Seahawks OTAs underway this week: What you need to know

The Seattle Seahawks begin their final phase of offseason workouts before training camp.

We’re less than three months away from the Seattle Seahawks’ preseason opener at the Los Angeles Chargers. This is typically the quiet part of the offseason in terms of significant news and roster movement, but the work never stops!

Just over two weeks removed from rookie minicamp, Seattle will kick off its Organized Team Activities (OTAs) on Monday, May 20. These are the last set of workouts leading up to the mandatory minicamp on June 11-13. Both OTAs and minicamp are considered Phase 3 of the offseason....

Talking Cardinals/Seahawks with superb host Dan Viens on the Forever Seahawks Podcast

Thanks to Dan Viens for inviting me to talk Cardinals/Seahawks with him on the “Forever Seahawks Podcast.” One of the special and most nostalgic moments for me during the show was when Dan compared QB Sam Howell to the Cardinals’ 1st round pick in the 1989 Supplemental Draft Tim Rosenbach! Turns out, Dan and Tim were great friends at Washington St.

After the show, Dan answered some questions about the quintet of former Seahawks who are now on the Cardinals’ 90-man roster. Here is the gist of what...

Film study on what Blake Corum does well

Film study on what Blake Corum does well

“What will Blake Corum bring to the Rams?” is the topic of this film study by Jackson Krueger

The Los Angeles Rams had one of the most productive running backs in the NFL last year, but Les Snead loves to add to his running backs room through the draft and did so again in 2024. Though Kyren Williams was a Pro Bowler who had 1,144 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns in only 12 games last season, the Rams picked Blake Corum in the third round, 83rd overall, to add to the backfield.

And Corum could prove to be even better...

How much will it cost to watch every 49ers game?

It’s expensive to be a fan. We break down what you’re looking at with all these platforms.

If there’s anything we’ve learned about being a fan of NFL teams, it’s that to watch all the games is expensive. If you like the NFL in general, the costs of everything will easilly crack the $500 barrier. The Athletic’s Tess DeMeyer put together a price list for an NFL fan to enjoy the season and it got me thinking: what if I just want to see San Francisco 49ers games? The schedule is out so we can start crunching numbers on what...
