Burns will be facing team that drafted him for first time
New York Giants edge defender Brian Burns admitted on Friday that he is “a little extra-motivated” for Sunday morning’s game against the Carolina Panthers, a team he spent five seasons with before being traded to the Giants this past offseason.
“I spent five years there and I know a lot of guys there, whatever the case may be,” Burns said. “But, I’m blessed to be where I am now. I’m happy to be where I am now and I’m looking to get a win.”

Fans think the Giants should have made a deal at the deadline
Speculation abounded around what the New York Giants would do at the trade deadline. In particular, it was strongly anticipated that the Giants would trade edge defender Azeez Ojulari, wide receiver Darius Slayton, or both.
The argument to trade either player is that both are on expiring contracts and the Giants may not re-sign them. Trading them would guarantee a return where they may otherwise leave for nothing, which is what happened with Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney.
However, the trade deadline for the 2024 season came and...
As we enter Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season, the New York Giants are still dealing with substandard play along the offensive line.
Pro Football Focus is ranking unit coach Carmen Bricillo’s group 29th out of 32 teams even after all of the changes they’ve made this past offseason.
All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas is out for the season after having foot surgery several weeks ago and former first-round pick Evan Neal has played just two offensive snaps this season.
Neal was supplanted by free agent Jermaine Eluemunor in training camp while on the physically unable to perform (PUP)...
The mail’s here!
*Wes Protheroe: The Giants passing game has difficulty in the red zone and rarely stretches the field. Yet they have two receivers on their roster that rarely use could which potentially improve these areas. Isaiah Hodgins at 6’3” is a big target, has good hands and can catch the ball in traffic. In 2022-23 he was one of DJ’s top targets and scored 8 touchdowns on 63 receptions (including playoffs). This year he is rarely activated. Last year the Giants traded up to get Jalin Hyatt and he averaged 16.2 YPC on 23 receptions. This year he...
