The Commanders handle business in week nine with a 27-22 road win over the New York Giants
The Commanders moved to 7-2 following their sweep of the New York Giants at Metlife Stadium. It's their first sweep of the Giants, led by Daniels Jones in both games since he became the Giants' full-time starter. While the Giants started the game on fire, dominating the time of possession and gashing with their rushing attack, the game's tide quickly changed after Dante Fowler's strip-sack of Jones. Then, it was Jayden Daniels's turn. While Daniels' numbers on the day weren't crazy, he led an offensive surge in which the offense scored three straight touchdown drives, going into halftime up 21-7.
In the second half, Washington appeared to be on cruise control, ultimately closing out the game against the Giants late with a nine-play, 67-yard drive, victory kneeling the ball on the Giants' two-yard line. Daniels had just 15 completions but threw two touchdowns and was not sacked on the day, which is critical considering the Giants defense leads the NFL in sacks. Furthermore, according to his tight end Zach Ertz, Daniels makes things much more difficult for defenses because of his preparedness and maturity.
