With Week 10 in the books, let’s take a look at who stood out for New Orleans.
The New Orleans Saints snapped their seven-game losing streak after defeating the division rival Atlanta Falcons 20-17 on Sunday afternoon.
This week’s standout player took advantage of his opportunity while New Orleans was missing significant firepower on offense. The breakout player from the Saints’ Week 10 victory over the Falcons was WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
The veteran receiver appeared in just his second game for the black and gold this season as New Orleans hosted Atlanta without WRs Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, Bub Means, and Cedrick Wilson Jr. The former Buffalo Bills deep threat recorded 3 receptions on 3 targets for 109 yards—31.5% of his 2023-24 combined total yardage entering the game—and scored 2 touchdowns.
Standing at 6’4” and 206 pounds, the 30-year-old (4.37 40-yard dash at the 2018 NFL Combine) gave his best Shaheed impression, hauling in a 40-yard TD pass and a 67-yard reception to set up his second score.
On 29 total snaps, Valdes-Scantling earned a 92.1 overall grade (91.7 receiving) from Pro Football Focus, making him the Saints’ second-highest graded player in Week 10.
