Crossing Broad
The Giants lost to the Steelers on Monday Night Football to fall to 2-6 and last place in the NFC East. They tried this two-point conversion in the fourth quarter:

“You want New York New York? Yeah let’s do it!”
This could be the greatest play in Giants history. Maybe the greatest play in the history of the division. I was watching this on repeat and it reminded me of the play that ended the Cowboys season two years ago. Remember that? The “Dallas Special?” When Zeke Elliott snapped the ball to Dak Prescott and was immediately flattened, then Dak threw the ball to KaVontae Turpin, who got squashed right away and that was that:

When comparing these two amazing plays, you’ve got two totally different game situations to consider. The Giants are trying a goal line swing pass to get a bunch of blockers out front. Schematically, it makes sense, they just totally forgot to block. It was like the linemen over there didn’t know the snap count and so they didn’t start moving until after the receiver was tackled. I wouldn’t mind seeing the New York Special again, but executed properly, to see if it actually works. I feel like we were ripped off a little bit, but humored. The Dallas play, on the other hand, was a desperation play at the end of the game and a total disaster from the start. NFL fans studied the play over and over again and came to the conclusion that it was supposed to be a throw and pitch back kind of thing, so that Zeke could ultimately the get the ball with a bunch of blockers. Obviously did not work that way, and the Cowboys crashed out of the playoffs in hilarious fashion once again. Regardless, these are two of the greatest plays in National Football League history.
