Where should the Rams rank heading into draft weekend?

The 2024 NFL Draft is upon us and it should be an eventual weekend for the Los Angeles Rams and the rest of the league. I don’t know about the rest of you but I’ll be relived once all the mock drafts and other draft projections are finally over. Enough with the guessing games already!

Unfortunately while mock draft season will be over after this weekend, power rankings will then be taking over. Look, I’m all for something filling the dead space between the draft and the start of training camp, but I don’t believe anything truly matters until the regular season begins. However, sports media must get its kicks in somehow which is what I believe PFF was going for with their recent NFC power rankings:

I know, I know, no one should be getting all worked up over this and yet I have a few problems with these rankings. The Rams should be ahead of the Seahawks and Vikings, that’s a fact. Especially considering Minnesota has the likes of Sam Darnold, Jaren Hall and Nick Mullens occupying their QB room. Yes, I anticipate the Vikings trading up to take a top prospect to make that grouping appear slightly more attractive. Still, WTF PFF?

Also, where are the Falcons? I thought they were the offseason darlings after signing Kirko Chains so um ... where’d they go? Again, rankings like this are always nonsensical as the draft and training camp helps fill in the pieces for where teams should be projected heading into the season.

On that note, I decided to come up with my own NFC power rankings. At least if they’re going to be nonsensical, they might as well be done right. Without further ado, here are my pre-draft NFC power rankings:

1.) San Francisco 49ers

2.) Detroit Lions

3.) Green Bay Packers

4.) Philadelphia Eagles

5.) Dallas Cowboys

6.) Los Angeles Rams

7.) Atlanta Falcons

8.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

9.) Chicago Bears

10.) Seattle Seahawks

11.) New Orleans Saints

12.) Minnesota Vikings

13.) Arizona Cardinals

14.) New York Giants

15.) Washington Commanders

16.) Carolina Panthers
