Is Bills vs Chiefs really a big game?
Welcome back to our weekend chat, Buffalo Bills fans.
It’s Bills vs Chiefs week! But this game feels, I dunno, not that important to me. I have some feelings and would love your reaction in the comments.
With a two-game lead, the Kansas City Chiefs don’t need to win this game in order to keep home0-field advantage throughout the playoffs. They would still have a lead in the AFC standings with a loss and an easier schedule than Buffalo down the stretch.
Step one is always “Make the playoffs” and then step two is “win your division”. The Bills are comfortably going to do both of those. So win or lose this weekend, Buffalo is still going to be a lock to print playoff tickets.
Hard truth time: The Bills hosted the Chiefs last year at Highmark Stadium and Kansas City still won. We thought it might be different in a home game, but it wasn’t. In fact, the Bills’ best shot of winning came in Arrowhead, but, ya know, 13 seconds...
Matt Milano is still on injured reserve. Keon Coleman won’t play and neither will Dalton Kincaid. If Amari Cooper plays, he will be limited. The Bills are not at 100% and getting those guys healthy for the long term is of much greater importance.
Similar to the previous note, the Bills should keep their tricks in the bag from when they need them in the playoffs. Don’t pull out the super-secret goal-line play in this game. Rn your normal offense to keep them guessing.
I am really feeling this right now. It doesn’t matter what you do in November. The 2007 New York Giants were 1-2 in November and 2-2 in December before handing the Nee England Patriots their first loss of the season in he Super Bowl. The Chiefs being undefeated now isn’t as important as being undefeated in the playoffs.
Buffalo has a pretty good record against Kansas City in the regular season. It hasn’t mattered come playoff time.
So who do you think, Bills fans? Is this a big game?
