Wagers to consider as you fill out your tickets

Welcome to the New York Giants betting angle, Week 10 edition! Each week, I’m giving you my three favorite wagers for that week’s New York Giants game. My one rule: I won’t ever give you wagers that are less than -120. No layups.

This week, the Giants head to Munich, where they’ll face the Carolina Panthers. The Giants are technically the road team. Germany, we’re sorry. Two years ago we sent you Tom Brady in his final season, and last year you got to see Patrick Mahomes. This year? Whoops. Carolina and New York both come in at 2-7. The Giants have lost four straight and have scored the second fewest points in the NFL. Carolina has allowed a league-worst 293 points in nine games and has by far the worst point differential in the league (-146). Last year, these teams combined to win just eight games. It’s not surprising that before this matchup, neither of these teams has been favored in a game this season. It’s worse than that. The Giants are favored this week (the line is NYG -6.5, with a game total of 40.5) and it’s the first time they’ve been a favorite in their last 25 games. The Panthers haven’t been favored in 28 straight games and counting. Ay, Caramba.

The Giants fell behind by two touchdowns in the first half at home last week against the Commanders, but showed some grit in making it a game with three second half scoring drives. Their comeback fell short and they lost 27-22. Bryce Young and the Panthers got their second win of the season last week while handing the Saints their seventh straight loss. So both teams have a modicum of momentum coming in, such as it is. Both are also trying to figure out if their long-term starting quarterback is on their current roster. With the Giants on Bye in Week 11, it’s possible that this could be Daniel Jones’s last game in his final audition to be the answer at QB.

I broke my winning streak last week, going 1-2. I struggled to find three bets I liked. This week, I had no problem finding attractive bets.

The line for this game opened at Giants -5.5 and has moved a point. And that has officially moved me off the Giants laying the points. As bad as Carolina is, the Giants shouldn’t be favored by almost a TD to anyone. The spread and game total are stay-aways for me.

As they say in Germany, lass uns gehen! (Let’s go!). All lines and odds are from FanDuel as of Friday morning, Nov. 8.

Those are the picks for Week zehn (10). Good luck with your wagers!

1. Tyrone Tracy, Jr. OVER 74.5 rushing yards (-114). It’s a high total, but I’ll take it. Tracy has taken over the lead-back duties and is getting the vast majority of carries. He’s had at least 16 carries in four of the...
