Sure it’ll take a lot, but it’s not out of the question and that’s the best news in years.
Can you believe it...our Broncos are 5-3!
And how many of you believe it will be 6-3 after Sunday? Well, not me (lol) but I’m a big believer in upset wins so that’s what I’m rooting for all the way.
pootflute, however, is a better fan and definitely sees the Broncos coming away with the dub. It’ll just take amazing defense, near-perfect offense and probably a couple of punts downed at the one.
As pootflute says, that would “bring tears to my eyes.”
Bring on the tears, I say!
MHR - The Broncos just won two games by a big margin to two not-very-strong teams. What are your takeaways from the wins over the Saints and Panthers before we head into this Week 9 matchup?
pootflute: The Broncos finally look like they did in the preseason!! Naturally, so did their opponents. It’s great to see them take care of business. At the same time, anything less would be a “ruh roh!”
MHR - This game is likely to be the toughest team the Broncos have played so far – and could have playoff implications down the road. Bo Nix will now be starting his ninth NFL game after a month where he found a groove. What are your expectations for the young quarterback going into one of the more important games this season against a defense that has surrendered a league high 291.4 yards per game?
pootflute: Nix should keep grooving against the worst passing defense in the league. The Ravens struggle at times to bring pressure, favoring Nix and his slippery ways. There won’t be much room for error, though. It could take a lot of grooving indeed to keep up with the Ravens’ offense.
MHR - Nix made some big-boy throws last week, and even though it was the Panthers, it was nice to see him push the ball downfield a lot. What did you like about his game specifically last week and what does he (and Sean Payton) absolutely have to do to be successful against the Ravens and score touchdowns?
pootflute: Nix was making all the throws you want to see, granted there usually weren’t any Panthers around to do anything about it. He was nice and comfortable. That’s where he’ll need to be against the Ravens. They’ve allowed by far the most air yards in the league (yet the fewest rushing yards), so taking advantage of that and pushing the ball downfield early and often is key.
MHR - Denver’s running backs have been up and down, depending on the game and opponent, but they have been able to find more open space in the last few games. However, the Ravens run defense is the opposite of its passing defense - allowing a league-low 69.9 yards per game. What are your hopes for the Denver running backs?
pootflute: I hope...
