Ultimate (enemy) Fan: Broncos should have no problem beating the Panthers
Mile High Report Mile High Report

We had to go behind enemy lines to complete the UFG this week, but even our Panthers fan knows the Broncos should take care of business at home today.

Well, ultimate fans, I have to report this is the first time in UFG history that I have not been able to find an ultimate Broncos fan to do our Ultimate Fan Guide. Our starting QB is apparently AWOL and so is the backup.

But my son’s friend and cross country teammate, Peyton Johnson, came in clutch to do this for me this morning! Peyton Johnson is a high school senior here in South Carolina who has grown up a Panthers fan. I can personally vouch for the fact that he beat the table for his beloved team to take CJ Stroud in the 2023 Draft. So despite the number of losses his team has accumulated in the past few years, he is definitely taking the ‘W’ on that call.

He’s also pretty realistic about his team’s chances in Denver today. While this is expected to be — and should be — a blowout win by the Broncos, we all know the pain of the trap game. Because all great football fans know, there’s always a chance for their team...no matter the odds.

Huge thanks to Peyton (not named for No. 18, by the way, but a pretty great coincidence) for stepping up big at the last minute to make sure we still had an Ultimate Fan Guide (even if written by the “enemy”)

PeytonJohnson: Most likely the Panthers are going to be in for a really rough day. 41 total points scored definitely seems possible but I think as much as I love the Panthers most of them are going to be scored by the Broncos. My prediction is that the score will be somewhere in the ballpark of 35-7. The only thing I think that could prevent the Panthers from getting blown out is if Bryce Young steps up after being benched and is able to have a good game after learning from Andy Dalton.

MHR - The Panthers’ defense is ranked at the bottom (or very very close) in every defensive metric that can be analyzed. But Bo Nix is still a rookie and finding the open receiver isn’t always easy (ie, no targets to Courtland Sutton last week). How do you expect the Panthers’ secondary to match up on these guys?
PeytonJohnson: I think that while the Panthers defense has struggled this year their secondary may be able to cover this week. Jaycee Horn has looked solid in previous games and has provided some light in an otherwise underwhelming defense. With the...
