The Cowboys seem to be imploding after their Week 8 SNF loss to the Niners.
There are few things nearly as sweet as an Eagles win, but seeing the Cowboys completely implode comes close. Considered a playoff contender at the beginning of the season, owner Jerry Jones’ terrible roster management has created a team that is one dimensional and not nearly as talented as they were in 2023. They also now have just a 12 percent chance of making the postseason.
On Sunday night, in a primetime game, the Cowboys were embarrassed against the San Francisco 49ers, and the players are not taking it well. Post-game CB Trevon Diggs went into the locker room and then emerged a little while later to confront a reporter about something he posted on X — because after a loss is a great time to scroll your mentions to find someone to belittle.
Diggs’ interaction with the reporter was about as juvenile as you get, with the CB unwilling to actually address his performance and instead ending with “Deez Nuts” — as any professional, adult does?
Diggs was on Micah Parsons podcast the next day, and talked about the Cowboys losing to the 49ers. He pointed to the opponents coaching, along with their talented offense, as reasons Dallas couldn’t get a win. He also addressed his post-game interaction and said that his emotions got the best of him because he gave his all in what he called one of the hardest games of the season.
Diggs certainly isn’t the only football player to have issues with how the media portrays them, and there is often credence to their complaints. But, as Jason Kelce has said in the past, the best way to shut people up is to play well enough that they have nothing to say — I don’t expect the Cowboys to do that anytime soon.
