Is the 55th time a charm?
Brian Callahan announced today that Nicholas Petit-Frere will get the start at right tackle for the Tennessee Titans when they take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. This is about the third time this season that NPF has been named the starter at right tackle. The other two did not go so well, in case you didn’t know.
There were some high hopes for NPF this offseason. He started for the Titans as a rookie, and while he was by no means a Pro Bowler, he played pretty well at times. Then he started off year two on a gambling suspension and then got hurt pretty much as soon as he got back. It seemed like being healthy and the addition of Bill Callahan would be a recipe for success for him. It has not been to this point.
Now he gets another chance to claim that spot. Right tackle has been a turnstile for the Titans this season. It would be great if NPF would seize the job this time, but I am going to have to see that happen before I believe it is possible.
