3 players who make sense for the Eagles at the trade deadline, 2.0 - PhillyVoice
Calais Campbell (38), DL, Dolphins (6’8, 307). Campbell is 38 years old, but still productive. He had 36 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 2022 with Baltimore, 56 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 2023 with Atlanta, and he has 28 tackles and 2 sacks in 8 games with Miami so far in 2024. For what it’s worth, PFF has Campbell graded as the 5th best defensive lineman in the NFL. The Eagles got a bit of a boost from the additions of Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh about midway through the 2022 season, and Campbell could function in a similar capacity as a half-season / playoff rental. Campbell is a versatile lineman who can play on the edge or on the interior, and the Eagles could use more depth at both spots. Estimated cost: I dunno, a 5, with a 7 coming back along with Campbell?

Philadelphia Eagles. If Howie Roseman is still involved, the Eagles are going to try and swing big at the deadline. The Eagles are firmly in the “good” team tier, but are missing some things that could separate them from being truly elite. While they can’t trade for a new coach midseason, I think the Eagles could really use another pass rush threat out on the edge. Since adding rookie CB Cooper DeJean to the lineup the secondary has been shored up, but the defensive line still has odd stretched of poor play. Bryce Huff hasn’t been who they’ve wanted him to be and Nolan Smith is still trying to find his footing. Another EDGE could be key in their chase for another Super Bowl appearance.
NFL Trade Rumors: Bryce Huff’s name emerges - BGN
So, here’s an interesting thing. Speaking during a Monday appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, NFL insider Tom Pelissero brought up Bryce Huff’s name when talking about candidates to be moved ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline at 4:00 PM Eastern. Here’s exactly what he had to say: “There’s certainly going to be interest in guys like Bryce Huff, who was one of the Eagles’ big free agent signings, played all of six snaps yesterday after apparently getting his hand banged up in warmups or something. That’s a name that I think is going to get some potential action.”

The Eagles want to be an aggressive organization. Taking chances means embracing failure. The Eagles lost that game in 2016, but Pederson’s aggressive style paid off in 2017 when he had a more talented team. He took chances...
