This will be a fun game.

Sunday’s game slate ends with a possible fun game as the Houston Texans host the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. The Lions are one of the best teams in the NFC, and the Texans have that awesome defense, so maybe DeMeco Ryans can provide the NFC with some possible blueprints. It’s hard to believe the 49ers are only two games back from the 7-win threshold the rest of the NFC is at, but they are.

The Lions have just come off a 24-14 win in Green Bay. Given how much this usually swings the other way when they go there, it’s a good indication how the league has changed. the only loss the Lions have had is against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team the San Francsico 49ers beat earlier.

The Texans are a bit strange. They have been in every game but don’t appear as good as their record indicates. The losses against the Packers and New York Jets were both under 10 points. Last week’s loss against the Jets does sting, but it was more the Jets forgetting they were the Jets. Today, the Arizona Cardinals held them to six points. The Texans also get wide receiver Nico Collins back, which should be huge.

FanDuel Sportsbook has the Lions favored by 4.5 points. I actually like that. I want to take the Texans and the points, but as I said, they have some issues. I’ll take the Lions to cover. I’ll also take the over of 48.5 points—but that second bet I’m not too confident about.

At least we get a fun game on Sunday night for a change.
