The Giants sat out at the trade deadline, but was that the right move?

The New York Giants were quiet at the NFL trade deadline this week, abstaining from making any moves.

Speculation, however, was rampant that they would deal edge defender Azeez Ojulari, wide receiver Darius Slayton, or perhaps both players.

The Giants reportedly received interest on both players, but ultimately weren’t offered the kind of compensation they wanted.

As we’ve noted before, both Ojulari and Slayton are useful players who are helping the Giants right now — and that’s reason to keep them.

However, it’s not a given that the Giants will be able (or willing) to re-sign either player. And any compensatory picks they receive won’t arrive until 2026 and they might not get any comp picks at all. From that perspective, something is better than nothing.

So this week we wanted to put the question to the Big Blue View community: Were the Giants right to sit on their number (reportedly a late-fourth or early fifth-round draft pick), or should they have been more flexible?
