Two of the league’s most prestigious teams face off under the lights in Santa Clara

If you asked the script writer’s guild at the NFL Headquarters, this game woul

That has not been the case as the San Francisco 49ers are 3-4 and weighted down by an unrelenting onslaught of injuries. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys are just.... well... bad.

As a Bay Area resident, nothing riles this area up more than playing the Cowboys. It’s a game that captures the attention and imagination of a nation with cross-country intrigue. Quite possibly 49ers fans enjoy a win over the Cowboys more than any other team. This game screams drunken fight in the balcony and parking lot.

Even though San Francisco is reeling from injuries, they are a five point favorite. If I’m a bettor, I would place my funds against that line and with the Cowboys who are coming off a bye. They were absolutely throttled 49-9, which was a scorigami for those who follow, but are facing a weakened 49ers opponent on both sides of the ball.

This matchup will be decisive for both teams. If the Cowboys win, they’ll keep pace in a hotly contested NFC East with the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles. This result will also put the 49ers in a tough spot in their mediocre division. Only the Seahawks (4-3 at the time of this article) hold a winning record. They certainly wouldn’t be out of the running, but it would make for an incredibly difficult slate as they face three winning NFC teams in a row (Bucs, Seahawks, and Packers).

A Cowboys loss would put them marginally behind the top teams in their division. Who knows how long the Commanders can keep this up. A win for the 49ers places them squarely in the running for their division again.
