Welcome to Sunday Night Football

Sunday Night Football is back this week featuring the Indianapolis Colts taking on the Minnesota Vikings. All Sunday Night Football games kick off at 8:20 ET on NBC.

As always in our brave new world of expansive sports gambling, it is now easier to bet on games than to watch them. You can catch current odds on all NFL games for Week 9 here on FanDuel.

On paper, there isn’t much separating the 4-4 Colts from the 5-2 Vikings. Both teams are trusting journeymen quarterbacks to not make mistakes with otherwise talented rosters. The difference is that the Colts are just turning to their journeyman/veteran quarterback this week. They benched the promising, but struggling young talent in Anthony Richardson in favor of Matt Ryan Joe Flacco, who is apparently still in the league.

The Vikings, meanwhile, have been under the surprisingly stable stewardship of Sam Darnold. Darnold has broken his own tradition this season by not turning into a liability after Week 3. It may be simple analysis, but I usually like to side with the better quarterback, that’s why I’m picking the Minnesota Vikings tonight.

As always, use this space to talk about the action as it unfolds.

You know the drill.
