The latest Cleveland Browns news and notes from around the NFL in the Sunday Dawg Chow.
The Cleveland Browns are at home today to take on the Baltimore Ravens.
The game against an AFC North Division rival, one that called Cleveland home in a former life, is generally one filled with passion from the fans.
Normally we would consider using the phrase “adoring fans,” but with the Browns currently 0-3 at home and openly feuding with fans after a small segment cheered last week when quarterback Deshaun Watson injured, that may be a poor choice of words.
Cleveland is first and foremost a football town. It always has been, much to the chagrin of some fans who puzzle over the fact that more attention is not shown toward the Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Cavaliers, who have been more successful over the years than the guys in the orange helmets.
It may not always be that way, however, especially if a group of underachieving players, or ones who have only been here a hot minute, go out of their way to paint their fans with a large brush based on the actions of a few.
There is one sure way to calm everything down, which is to start winning, and today presents as good an opportunity as any to get to work on that.
If not? Well, those boos may be directed at more than just one polarizing player.
