Steelers fans react to heartbreaking Week 12 loss
Steelers Wire Steelers Wire

What a difference four days make! Following the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ Week 11 victory over the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday, fans believed the team was in the midst of something special in 2024. However, after the team’s Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns just four days later on Thursday Night Football, a mix of emotions has swept over the Steel City.

There is plenty of blame to go around, from HC Mike Tomlin’s fourth-quarter calls, to poor officiating, to Corliss Waitman’s botched punt, and even mother nature for the cruel and frigid weather conditions of the Week 12 contest.

While Pittsburgh remains atop the AFC North, the Week 12 loss reopened the door for the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional race, as they are now only half a game behind Pittsburgh.

Fans are understandably upset with the Steelers seemingly taking several steps back on both offense and defense, but overall, mixed reactions remain constant. Here are some of the most passionate reactions on social media regarding the Steelers’ Week 12 loss.

At this point yesterday the Steelers were first place in the AFC North and the Browns were dead last

Nothing in the last 24 hours has changed that

8-3, onto Cincy

The @steelers will never win another playoff game with Mike Tomlin as coach. In today’s @nfl, play calling and scheme matters. Doing the same exact thing every week and not changing up based on your opponent is football that died in the 2000’s. The game has passed tomlin by.

The Steelers loss to the Browns yesterday was disappointing, but that’s football and all the trash talking is warranted.

Even still, the Steelers are my boys. #NFL

Mike Tomlin wins games he shouldn’t and loses games he shouldn’t. Last night was actually embarrassing. Going for it on 4th 4 times and giving Cleveland free points.

Amongst many things tonight, that Fields 3rd down call and throw was atrocious, followed by an even worse 15 yd punt

The chiefs lost to the broncos and raiders last year – good teams lose to bad teams sometimes. This is the NFL. You can panic if we get smoked by Cincinnati until then just relax 8-3 and in first place.
