You already shnow Bills Mafia’s ready to rock the second half of Buffalo’s season

The Buffalo Bills have hit the Midwest, ready to take on the Indianapolis Colts In Week 10. At 7-2, the Bills are the odds-on-favorite to win the AFC East for the fifth consecutive time, as well one of the most dominant teams in the AFC.

Buffalo’s given its faithful fans plenty to cheer about this season already, outperforming what many predicted would be in store in 2024. Once thought of as no better than third-best in their own division, the Bills have a commanding lead over everyone behind them, which includes a four-game lead on the second-place New York Jets.

It’s fair to say that the season’s gone incredibly well, and forced many observers to rethink their predictions and expectations of this year’s Buffalo Bills. Where before hiccups were expected in a season full of reshuffling around quarterback Josh Allen, now you’ll find plenty of people quick to put the Bills in conversations about lengthy postseason play, and ready to crown Allen as this year’s NFL MVP.

Honestly, it’s way too early for all that, even if the regular season is half over. That’s not going to stop the growing excitement within Bills Mafia. Why should it?

Last week, Rumblers’ confidence in the Bills had reached a fever pitch, with 96% of respondents on board with the direction of the team. This week, confidence took a hit, strange as it may seem. After all, the Bills did pick up their fourth-straight win, pulling off the season sweep of the Miami Dolphins — all while watching kicker Tyler Bass hit a career-long 61-yard field goal to win the game.

Despite the team’s continued success, fan confidence dipped to 89% among voters in this week’s poll. It’s still an incredibly high number, of course. But the decrease is interesting. Nonetheless, oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook remain bullish on the Bills’ chances this season.

If you were to ask me, I’d chalk it up to nervous energy about the team’s continued injury situation. It’s as though a new name’s added to each report, the latest now being reserve linebacker Baylon Spector who was sent to Injured Reserve. Perhaps most concerning is the amount of injured wide receivers Buffalo’s been forced to navigate around, including recent addition Amari Cooper.

To put things in perspective, I thought it would be a good idea to take a look at survey data from the Colts’ SB Nation website, Stampede Blue. In stark contrast to Bills Mafia, only 5% of Colts fans are confident in the team’s direction... ouch.

A significant portion of respondents believe quarterback Anthony Richardson should be starting against the Bills.

And just 6% of respondents are confident saying Indianapolis will defeat Buffalo in Week 10.
