SB Nation Reacts results: Bills Mafia weighs in with Round 1 preferences

Are the results close, or skewed heavily in one direction?

The results are in, Bills Mafia! Yesterday we asked you to weigh in about the Buffalo Bills’ proceedings this evening. Should Buffalo’s decision makers stay put at 28, trade up, or move back into Round 2?

The two previous seasons, general manager Brandon Beane authored trades to move up to select cornerback Kaiir Elam (2022) and tight end Dalton Kincaid (2023). In both cases, the team moved up two spots in Round 1.

In fact, in four of six drafts, the current regime has chosen to trade up. Should we expect they make it five of seven tonight?

What do the results of your vote tell us? Well, most of you want the Bills to stay put at 28 (34%). Just behind that decision are those who want Buffalo to trade up in Round 1 (33%). And closely behind that move are those who would prefer a trade back and out of Round 1 (32%).

With such close results, it’s evident that no single action is far and away the preferred choice. Moving back doesn’t often favor teams in most drafts, but this year could prove different with the Bills close to the end of Round 1 and there being a large amount of prospects to consider for Round 2. Beane has stated that he doesn’t see 28 first-round talents on their board, but that this year’s class has more than the 2022 class.

We’ll have to wait and see if what Buffalo Rumblings readers prefer most is the path Buffalo’s front office takes later tonight.

In SB Nation’s national polls, results from two questions should interest Bills fans. In discussing the Buffalo Bills this offseason, conversations have skewed heavily in the direction of adding wide receivers. Strong feelings in that regard were jolted to new heights when the team decided to trade away wide receiver Stefon Diggs after watching wide receiver Gabe Davis leave in free agency.

Some might call the entire situation free urgency. At times, it’s felt as though landing the draft’s top prospects may prove impossible. That’s possibly still true of the top two names in Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers, and likely the case with Rome Odunze. Though the (small) majority of national votes (33%) predict just four receivers will be selected in Round 1, while 32% believe the number is five.

Does that mean any among that trio and the likes of Brian Thomas Jr. or Adonai “AD” Mitchell drop — and far enough so that the Bills don’t have to give up significant future assets?

Concerning the highest pick being traded away, most voters (54%) see that happening somewhere within picks four to six. Can you see a trade partner for the Buffalo Bills among the Arizona Cardinal, Los Angeles Chargers, or New York Giants?
