The latest Cleveland Browns news and notes from around the NFL in the Saturday Dawg Chow.

The Cleveland Browns do not have a lengthy history against their opponent this week in the New Orleans Saints.

The two teams have only played 19 times since their first meeting in 1967, a game where wide receiver Paul Warfield caught a pair of touchdown passes in a 42-7 win at Tulane Stadium that saw the home fans pelt the expansion Saints with beer cans and whiskey bottles.

All told the Browns will take an 8-3 mark against the Saints as the road team into the game, with two wins in particular standing out:

  • The 1999 meeting that saw the expansion Browns pick up their first victory when quarterback Tim Couch connected with wide receiver Kevin Johnson on a 56-yard pass at the buzzer
  • The 2010 matchup when the Browns beat the defending Super Bowl champion Saints thanks in part to a 68-yard run by punter Reggie Hodges on a fake punt, and a pair of interception returns for touchdowns by linebacker David Bowens.

While we wait to find out what the latest edition of the series brings, let’s get caught up on all the latest news about the Browns and notes from around the NFL in today’s edition of the Saturday Dawg Chow.
