We break down the San Francisco 49ers depth chart with weekly updates about starters and backups during the 2024 NFL season.
The San Francisco 49ers current depth chart for the 2024 season is listed below. The team updates the starters and backups each week due to injuries and players getting promoted or demoted in playing time.
The 49ers acquired defensive tackle Khalil Davis from the Houston Texans for a seventh round pick. He provides depth behind Maliek Collins and Jordan Elliott.
On Monday, the team returned from their bye week and had several injured players back at practice. That group included running back Christian McCaffrey, wide receiver Jauan Jennings, offensive lineman Jon Feliciano, and kicker Jake Moody. McCaffrey and Feliciano are on injured reserve but eligible to return.

The team was without wide receiver Jauan Jennings in Week 8 and saw running back Jordan Mason injure his left shoulder during the game. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel left the game as well with a rib injury. Chris Conley saw the biggest increase in playing time with Jennings absent. Isaac Guerendo saw the biggest increase in playing time after Mason left the game.
Looking ahead to Week 9, the 49ers head into their bye, which will give injured players time to get healthier. They hope to have running back Christian McCaffrey back in the starting lineup in November.
