Will the Black and Gold start the season the right way? Let’s find out
The New Orleans Saints are ready to open the 2024 season by welcoming the Carolina Panthers to the Crescent City.

This is obviously a favored pick, so the payout won’t be as great, but I feel like the Saints open the season at home with a key win. The new offensive system is going to throw some wrinkles at their opponents, setting up the opportunity for points. Derek Carr finished the 2023 season on a strong run of success, and I have a feeling that he starts 2024 in a similar manner.
Also, I think this new system will do wonders for Alvin Kamara, a 29-year-old in search of one final contract in the NFL. He’s going to get back to being able to make plays in the flat and use his athleticism to outmatch his defenders.
Here’s another pick that may not pay out a ton, but it feels like a safe play. The Saints and Panthers haven’t combined for over 41.5 points in a contest since October 2020 when the Saints won 27-24 inside the Superdome. I feel like if anyone will break this trend, it’ll be the Saints' offense, but these two teams have kept it very close over the last few seasons, so I expect it to be more of the same on Sunday.
