A new trade target has emerged for New Orleans.

Two weeks ago, the New Orleans Saints registered their interest in Raiders WR Davante Adams but could not get the deal done. Adams was traded to the New York Jets and is once again teamed up with QB Aaron Rodgers. The Saints are still interested in bringing in another WR via trade, and Jets WR Mike Williams could be a target, per Dianna Russini.

To say Mike Williams has had a tough week is an understatement. First, his quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, threw him under the bus after throwing the game-losing interception. Then, a couple of days after the game, the Jets traded for Davante Adams, which pushes Williams out of New York. For the Saints, trading for Williams would make sense. Besides his injury history, Mike Williams is a big play threat who is also great in contested pass situations. The Saints are missing a taller receiver in the current wideout room, and with the injuries that Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed are dealing with, Williams might be the perfect trade target. Another positive is his contract. Per Over the Cap, Williams is on a one-year deal, and the base salary is only $1.2 million. His trade value is also low, so a late-round pick could finish the deal. It is a very low-risk trade for the Saints, but Mike William’s injury history will be the biggest hurdle in this deal.

If you were the Saints, would you trade for Mike Williams? If so, what would you trade? If not, who else could the Saints target at WR?
