Looks like the Saints are not done adding to their roster.

The 2024 NFL season is less than a week away, and the New Orleans Saints are not done constructing their roster. The Saints have invited standout XFL/UFL wide receiver Jahcour Pearson to work out with the team, per Jordan Schultz.

Pearson is a 5-foot-8 wide receiver who primarily plays in the slot. His dynamic speed and good route running make him a yards-after-catch threat. He was also one of the top punt returners in the league.

Throughout the preseason, the Saints have seen the wide receiver room ravaged by injuries. Adding another receiver to the practice squad would be a smart move, if more injuries occur. The Saints do not have a slot receiver behind Cedrick Wilson, so if an injury occurs, Pearson will fill this role if signed. In contrast with Wilson, Pearson is much smaller, faster, and better after the run. Even as a smaller receiver, Pearson can make contested catches and great adjustments in the air. The one issue of his game is his blocking, and that may be the main reason the Saints end up not signing Jahcour Pearson.
