New Orleans signs a veteran cornerback in light of recent injuries at the position.
The New Orleans Saints have announced they signed cornerback Joejuan Williams and waived/injured center Sincere Haynesworth.
The Nashville native was drafted by the New England Patriots in the second round (45th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent 3 seasons in New England before moving on to the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings in 2023. In his 5 seasons in the NFL, Williams has played in 42 games, recording 39 tackles (26 solo) and 10 PBUs.
To make room for Williams, the Saints waived center Sincere Haynesworth, who was injured during the 2nd half of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. The undrafted rookie from Tulane was signed by New Orleans back in April.
