The New York Giants are releasing cornerback Nick McCloud, reports Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

The Giants are releasing CB Nick McCloud, per source. Started 5 games this season + good special teams player (gunner).

Giants came to McCloud during the season trying to get him to take pay cut. Before a game he started.

McCloud was playing on 1-yr, $3 million deal as a RFA.

McCloud was claimed off waivers from the Buffalo Bills in August of 2022 and had played in 38 games (starting 16) for Big Blue.

This season, McCloud has started five games due to the Giants going through a spate of injuries in the secondary.

As intimated above, McCloud refused a pay cut and the Giants are operating with approximately $3.7 million in available cap space and may seeking some roster additions.

The move will reportedly free up $900K in cap space.

The move leaves the Giants with five corners: Deonte Banks, Dru Phillips, Cor’Dale Flott, Adoree’ Jackson, and Tre Hawkins III.

They also have Greg Stroman and Art Green on the practice squad.
