Also, bet on Jameis Winston throwing the ball a lot.
The Cleveland Browns are back at home against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season this Sunday, October 27, at 1:00 pm ET. The Browns are 8.5-point underdogs against the Ravens, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Here are my favorite player prop bets from the Browns’ perspective in Week 8.
The Ravens have the top-ranked run defense in the NFL, but the worst-ranked pass defense. David Njoku had one of his best games of the 2024 season last week, and also caught a late touchdown pass from Jameis Winston. Njoku figures to be targeted again this week often, and it only makes sense for Winston to look his way down in the red zone.
It may sound ridiculous that I would suddenly expect a Browns quarterback to get over 200 yards passing, but that’s how bad Deshaun Watson was. 236 yards passing isn’t even a high bar for quarterbacks to achieve, and I think Jameis Winston’s aggressive mentality, combined with the running game likely being a bit slowed by Baltimore, will lead to him having a nice passing day.
Even though I’d like to have faith in the Browns’ run defense, in his last five games, Henry has 151, 199, 92, 132, and 169 yards rushing. If Cleveland could avoid allowing the big run, they can keep Henry below 96 yards. However, with the missed tackles they’ve had at times, he probably will break one — it’s just for how long? Cumulatively, though, I’d expect him to get past 95 yards rushing on the day.
