This is the second off-the-field incident tied to the Chiefs receiver this offseason.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is under investigation for a new incident, according to WFAA in Dallas. Rice is alleged to have assaulted a photographer early Monday morning at 609 N. Harwood Street, which is the address of “Lit Kitchen.”

As is well known by now, Rice had already been dealing with eight charges stemming from his connection to a six-vehicle accident — also in Dallas — that occurred in late March. The charges from that incident ranged from collision involving bodily injury to aggravated assault.

The 24-year-old receiver played high school football in North Richland Hills, Texas, before committing to SMU to play college football. The Chiefs drafted Rice in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

After the initial incident, the Chiefs said they would react accordingly once they had all the facts. At the start of Kansas City’s offseason program in mid-April, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid alluded to the club still gathering information.

“As long as he’s learned from it, that’s the important part of it,” said Reid. “We’ll take it from there and see what takes place. But right now, we’re just gathering everything and trying to make sure we have all the bases covered there.”
