Rams Reacts Survey Results: Fans don’t mind a trade, as long as the team stays in the first

LA has a history of trading in the draft as of late, but fans are excited to see their first opening round pick in 8 years

The Los Angeles Rams have been one of the teams most opening to trading draft picks, whether that be for players or to amass more selections in the later rounds. This year has a different feel though, as LA is slated to make their first opening round pick since 2016, and fans seem excited to see what Snead and the front office are planning to do with that pick.

When asked “Should the Rams trade their first round pick?” fans seemed pretty split on whether the team should trade down or trade up, but the majority of the fan base has made it clear that they just want a pick made in the first round, with 35% saying no to trading the pick at all.

I feel very similar to the fan base, in a sense that I don’t mind if the Rams move up to get a player they really like, or down to get a few more picks, but I would really like to see the team make some kind of selection in the first round of the draft tonight. As a fan, it’s fun that for the first time in years we have a reason to watch the opening round of the NFL draft, plus the potential to get a young starter caliber player for a position of need is obviously exciting as well.

Overwhelmingly, fans also do not want to see Los Angeles trade the pick for a veteran player, further showing that the fan base wants to see the Rams make a selection on Thursday night. Snead and McVay should have plenty of options at 19, whether that be an edge rusher, wide receiver, defensive lineman or a move to trade back.

If the Rams fall in love with a player and do want to try and move up, they have the fire power to do so. With 11 picks in this year’s draft, they are tied for the most in the league with the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals, and could use some of the extra picks to package a deal together.

Tune in Thursday, April 25th at 8pm E.T. to see what the Rams do in the first round from Detroit.
