Rookie tight end balled out (again) in Miami

Let’s look at how the Las Vegas Raiders’ rookie class fared in a 34-19 Week 11 game at the Miami Dolphins and what it means heading into a Week 12 home game against the Denver Broncos. Kickoff is at 1:05 p.m. PT.

Brock Bowers:

Bowers had 13 catches for 124 yards and a score. It was the most catches by a rookie in a game ever. He has 70 receptions. He has the second most catches by a Raiders rookie behind Amari Cooper’s 72 in 2015. Bowers has seven more games to play. Bowers had catches for xx yards. He is the ninth rookie tight end to catch at least, 60 passes. He is one of three players (the only tight end) with, at least, 65 catches in his first 10 games. He is on pace to set the rookie tight end catching record. Detroit’s Sam LaPorta set it last season with 86 grabs, He became the first rookie tight end to have, at least, eight catches in three straight games. He has 47 catches this season, which is the most ever by a rookie tight end after seven games.

Jackson Powers-Johnson:

Powers-Johnson started his second straight game at center in place of the injured Andre James. He will likely go back to guard when James is healthy.

D.J. Glaze:

The third-round pick continued to start at right tackle where he is a staple.

Decamarion Richardson:

The fourth-round pick played a combined 38 defensive snaps this season, but ended up playing 66 snaps at Miami because starter Jakorian Bennett was injured on the second play of the game. Richardson had his issues in the game, but it was excellent experience for a player the Raiders are excited about. He could play this week depending on Bennett’s injury status.

Tommy Eichenberg:

The fifth-round pick from Ohio State didn’t play any defensive snaps in Miami after playing 18 snaps in the Raiders’ previous game, in Week 9 at Cincinnati. He did play 20 snaps on special teams against the Dolphins.

Dylan Laube:

The sixth-round pick was inactive for seventh time this season.

Trey Taylor:

The seventh-round pick was inactive for the second straight game.

Not on roster

Seventh-round pick, cornerback M.J. Devonshire was cut and is on the practice squad.

Undrafted free agents:

Linebacker Amari Gainer, defensive tackle Jonah Laulu and safety Thomas Harper. Gainer played 18 snaps on special teams, matching his season low. Laulu march his season high for snaps percentage with 49 and he had his first tackle for loss. Harper played nine defensive snaps and 13 on special teams at Miami.
