Las Vegas gets its quarterback in huge deal
This is our third full seven-round Las Vegas Raiders mock draft this week. This one features a big trade up. The other two mocks were a no-trade draft and one that a trade into the bottom of the first round. Full disclosure: Some players appear on multiple mocks as we exercise our way up to draft day Thursday:
Let’s get it done:
First round
Trade**:** Raiders send No. 13, 2025 first-round pick, No. 44, 2025 second-round pick for No. 3.
No. 3: Jayden Daniels, LSU, quarterback: The price is steep, but it could be worse and theAntonio Peirce gets his man. Daniels could take the Raiders to the next level very quickly.
Third round
No. 77: Rutgers cornerback Max Melton:
This would be a pretty nice get in the third round after the Daniels blockbuster. Melton is very well liked in league circles and many scouts think he can become a starter soon.
Fourth round
No. 112: Pittsburgh tackle Matt Goncalves:
He’d be a terrific get this deep in the draft. The Raiders have shown interest in him. This would be continuing a strong draft and give Daniels a potential long-term protector at a need position.
Fifth round:
No. 148: Michigan guard Trevor Keegan:
The Raiders studied the Wolverines’ offensive lineman and Keegan has a chance to develop into a starter. He offers solid value and will have a chance to develop quickly.
Sixth round
No. 208: Travis Glover, tackle, Georgia State:
The Raiders reportedly visited with Glover, who has a chance to be a steal. You can never have enough offensive linemen.
Seventh round:
No. 223: Edefaun Ulofoshio, linebacker, Washington:
The Raiders have studied Ulofoshio and he would be a nice get in the seventh round at a position where they could use some youth and depth.
No. 229: Trey Taylor, safety, Air Force:
The Raiders have shown interest in the Jim Thorpe Award winner and he could be a nice final piece to this draft.
Conclusion:
Getting Daniels and Melton in this draft would be something. Of course, it hurts next year’s draft, but if Daniels hits (as expected), it would be well worth it.
