Who else is thankful there’s no “NY” team playing in primetime tonight?

The Washington Commanders are in “The City of Brotherly Love” to take on the Philadelphia Eagles for a classic NFC East showdown on Thursday Night Football for Prime Video. In each of these primetime / spotlight games, I make a point to draw attention to situations that have meaning for the Buffalo Bills.

For tonight’s game, there’s zero to focus on as it relates to the Bills and their playoff situation. This time we can sit back and enjoy a game at base level, though it would always make sense to pay attention to trends you find in NFC teams — you know, should Buffalo find themselves preparing to face them in February. Our team at Buffalo Rumblings is constantly doing that legwork so that you can simply enjoy being full-throated fans.

Back to the game at hand...

If you haven’t been paying close attention, the Eagles are now 7-2 and in first place in the NFC East. The Commander are hot on their wings at 7-3. Philadelphia enters tonight as 4.5-point favorites (-4.5) over Washington with FanDuel Sportsbook. The latest O/U ahead of kickoff was set at 49.5. There are plenty of intriguing in-game wagers for Week 11 of TNF, if you’re looking to add an extra element of fun into the mix.

The Eagles have been on a tear, winning five games in a row, while the Commanders are coming off a really tough last-second one-point loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers — which broke a three-game win streak of their own.

It’s anyone’s game tonight, and this is one of the better primetime matchups to this point in the season. We’ve seen plenty of terrible NFC East football in recent years, and far too many games that feature those fake NY teams, so enjoy this one.

Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has put the NFL on notice, having thrown for 2,147 yard with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions; adding 464 rushing yards and four touchdowns plus three fumbles on 85 carries. There’s been real talk of Daniels finishing the season as NFL MVP and winning NFL Rookie of the Year.

Jalen Hurts has played well for the Eagles this season, passing for 1,976 yards, with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions; adding 93 carries for 378 yards with an impressive 10 touchdowns — and also six fumbles.

I’m taking the home team tonight. I see a high-scoring game that goes down to the wire, with the Eagles outlasting Daniels and the Commanders.
