Paycor Stadium is getting a $39 million update

The changes should be completed before the end of the summer.

This week marks the unveiling of some of Paycor Stadium’s recent updates.

As Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson writes, Hamilton County Commissioners invested $39 million to help keep the stadium looking fresh and modern.

Here’s what that means:

A new field

The Bengals organization looked at a variety of options for the 50-yard logo, including the beloved leaping tiger. Ultimately, they settled on... “B”.

The reasoning?

“We want our field to be immediately recognizable, and our primary logo accomplishes that in a clean, crisp way,” said Director of Strategy and Engagement Elizabeth Blackburn.

So what’s different?

The end zone design and field numbers have been updated to reflect the 2021 changes to the team’s uniforms. Hobson includes images of the new field in his article. There he also explains how these were put together in one place to make it higher quality. And somehow, they did it all in only two months.

New club seats

They will be forest green as a sort of “nod to the stadium being the first footprint on the Banks,” Hobson writes. He adds that this also fits the Jungle theme as well as the overall view across the Ohio River. (Cincinnati is beautiful, so it’s completely fair to lean into that.)

Plaza Expansion

The plaza entrance at Gate D is going to be three times the size it was before. This will make it easier to enter and exit the stadium. Two steel staircases are also being added to nearby streets.

An upgraded TV system

Fans will get access to twice the number of television screens inside the stadium, bringing the total number of TVs to 1,600. And these devices will be easier to manage, as they can now be controlled in one spot.

The plan is for all of these updates to be completed before the end of the summer.

In other news, the Bengals had a very interesting and promising 2024 NFL Draft last week. If you missed it, check out our recap and grades:
