The first injury report heading into Week 12 at Hard Rock Stadium.

The New England Patriots began AFC East work on the Miami Dolphins without four.

Offensive tackle Vederian Lowe, defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. and defensive tackles Jaquelin Roy and Christian Barmore did not participate in Wednesday’s partially-padded practice in Foxborough.

But starting interior lineman Cole Strange returned, opening his 21-day window to be activated off the physically unable to perform list after seeing his 2023 season end with a torn patellar tendon last December.

“Oftentimes those things get looked over, but it is a journey,” head coach Jerod Mayo said of the former No. 29 overall pick out of Chattanooga. “Anytime you’re coming back from injury — which I know, I know the feeling — it’s not a straight line getting back to the way you used to play. It takes time going through rehab and all those things. It’s been a long year for Cole, but excited to have him out there.”

Here’s the first injury report leading up to Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium.

DID NOT PARTICIPATE

Patriots

  • OT Vederian Lowe (shoulder)
  • DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (foot)
  • DT Jaquelin Roy (neck)
  • DT Christian Barmore (not injury related — other)

Dolphins

  • OT Terron Armstead (knee)
  • DT Calais Campbell (veteran rest)
  • CB Kendall Fuller (concussion)

Lowe recorded the first touchdown catch of his football career against the Los Angeles Rams. The starting blindside protector stayed in to handle all 76 offensive snaps before missing practice due to a shoulder injury that previously kept him limited. And across the ball, the Patriots have now been without Wise for four consecutive sessions due to a foot injury. The defensive captain, who was recently among the questionable, missed his fifth career game in the regular season last Sunday. Roy also went to the inactives 90 minutes prior to kickoff because of a neck injury. Yet Barmore made his 2024 debut for the D-line rotation. He did so after practicing only once since July’s diagnosis with blood clots sent him to the non-football injury list. It spanned 21 defensive snaps for the four-year, $84 million Alabama product, who remains on a ramp-up schedule.
