The oddsmakers don’t trust the Patriots to beat the lowly Titans.

Neither the New England Patriots nor the Tennessee Titans have played particularly well so far this season, with their three wins between them as concrete proof. However, it seems like the Patriots are in a clearly better position entering their Week 9 matchup.

Not only is New England 2-6 compared to Tennessee’s 1-6, the team of head coach Jerod Mayo is also coming off a win. The Titans, meanwhile, were beaten by 38 points Sunday.

And yet, the oddsmakers don’t trust the Patriots.

According to FanDuel, New England opened the week as 3-point underdogs. The over/under for the game has been set at 37.5.

The Patriots being underdogs is nothing new. They have only been favored in a game once this season but ended up losing that particular contest (in Week 5 versus Miami). Still, the team appears to be in better shape than its upcoming opponent at this point in time.

However, two things work against New England: starting quarterback Drake Maye being in concussion protocol, and the game being played in Tennessee. Whether any of that matters remains to be seen.

Patriots vs. Titans will be kicked off at 1 p.m. ET at Nissan Stadium.
