I'm really not sure what we expected.
Fan confidence is nearing a season low after a bad loss to the Washington Commanders and the (hopefully short term) injury that has sidelined quarterback Andy Dalton as we enter the halfway point of the Carolina Panthers seventh consecutive lost season. What a joy it is to follow this franchise.
Fan confidence in the latest new regime was high, holding at 79%, before the start of the 2024 season. Then it dropped to 17% after seeing former first overall pick quarterback Bryce Young play against the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Chargers. It rose again, back to a height of 74%, after Dalton led the team to their lone win against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Since then, Dalton has struggled, injuries have mounted, and Young is now back in the line up. That has brought us to the precipice of dropping below our current low point of confidence this season.
Only 24% of y'all are confident that the Panthers are headed in the right direction. We'll see if Canales can spark some fireworks from Young this week. Otherwise, I'll meet y'all near rock bottom next week.
